Description: A highly collectible vintage Royal Air Force (RAF) sweetheart brooch, dating from the WW1 or WW2 era (indicated by the pre-1953 King's Crown). This beautifully detailed brooch is crafted from silver (stamped "SILVER" on reverse) and features the iconic RAF wings surmounted by the crown, with the 'RAF' monogram meticulously rendered in vibrant blue enamel at the centre. The crown also features red enamel detail.

Condition:

• Brooch: Good vintage condition. The sterling silver shows expected tarnish but retains excellent detail in the wing feathers. The blue and red enamel appears fully intact and vibrant, which is a key factor for collectors. The pin and clasp mechanism on the reverse are present and appear functional.
• Box: Fair to Poor condition externally, showing significant signs of age and wear with scuffs, rubbing, and surface loss to the brown textured covering. The gold tooling around the edge is faded. However, the box structure is sound, and the hinge and clasp work. Internally, the cream silk/satin lining is aged and slightly stained but the jeweller's mark is clear and legible.
