An original vintage sheet music for the popular song "The Land of Might-Have-Been," with words by Edward Moore and music by the celebrated Welsh composer and actor Ivor Novello. Published by Ascherberg, Hopwood & Crew, Ltd., London, likely dating to the early 1920s as the song featured in his musicals from 1921 ("The Gipsy Princess" and "The Golden Moth").
This copy features what appears to be an authentic signature of Ivor Novello in ink on the front cover. It also includes a charming period inscription: "To Agnes Munro Adams – from her old Uncle John."
Condition: Fair for its age (approximately 100+ years). There is general wear, yellowing, some creasing, and minor edge tears consistent with age and use. The signature remains clear. Please refer to the photographs for a detailed view of the condition.
Collectibility: Ivor Novello's memorabilia is highly sought after by collectors of vintage British theatre, musical scores, and autographs. This signed piece represents a wonderful opportunity to own a tangible piece of theatrical history. Authenticity of signature is based on visual assessment and comparison to known examples but has not been professionally authenticated.
A fantastic addition to any collection or a unique gift for a Novello enthusiast!
