A stunning Art Deco period green uranium glass vase, exhibiting classic 1930s English style, possibly by a renowned maker such as Sowerby. This elegant piece features a flared octagonal body with distinct panels, each with a subtly textured or stippled surface that beautifully catches the light. The octagonal design is carried through to the foot and rim.
The true magic of this vase is revealed under UV (blacklight), where it emits a vibrant, bright green glow, characteristic of uranium glass (also known as Vaseline glass). Weighing 408 grams, it's a substantial and eye-catching piece perfect for displaying flowers or as a standalone decorative item for any collector of Art Deco or uranium glass.
Condition: Good vintage condition. The uranium glass fluoresces impressively. There are some very minor fleabites or small nibbles along the sharp edges of the octagonal foot; this is common for pressed glass of this era and does not detract significantly from its overall beauty. No major chips or cracks are visible. Please see photos for detailed condition, including UV glow.
